Motorola just took a step many users had been waiting for: adding a book-style foldable to its successful Razr lineup, a format that until now had been dominated by Samsung and Honor. The Razr Fold 2026 arrives as the largest and most ambitious member of the Razr family, betting on big screens, generous battery life, and a premium approach designed to go head-to-head with the market’s most established foldables.

The Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch outer display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, capable of showing full apps, widgets, and real-time notifications without opening the phone. Unfolded, it reveals an 8.1-inch inner LTPO display at 2K resolution, letting users run up to three apps at once, either side-by-side or stacked.

One of the Razr Fold’s strongest selling points is its 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola says is the largest currently available in a foldable phone. According to the brand, it delivers all-day battery life under heavy use, exceeding 43 hours in mixed-use testing.
Charging keeps pace: the Razr Fold supports 80W TurboPower wired fast charging — recovering up to 12 hours of use in under 10 minutes — plus 50W wireless charging. Despite the large battery, the device stays just 4.6mm thick when unfolded, thanks to its advanced silicon-carbon battery technology.
Performance and Premium Build
Under the hood, the Razr Fold runs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage — figures that place it among the most powerful foldables available. Its stainless steel hinge and titanium frame are engineered, Motorola says, to withstand more than a decade of continuous use, while a liquid cooling system keeps thermals stable during intense gaming or streaming sessions.
The device also debuts Sound by Bose, an exclusive collaboration for this model within the foldable lineup, along with Dolby Atmos optimization for immersive audio rarely seen in this form factor.

For photography, the Razr Fold packs a triple 50-megapixel rear camera system: a Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor with optical stabilization, an ultra-wide with macro capability, and a periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, plus 8K video recording. The device has earned a DXOMARK Gold award, recognized for its clarity, low-light performance, and video smoothness, setting a new benchmark for foldable cameras according to the testing firm.
AI and Software
The Razr Fold ships with Android 16 out of the box and Motorola’s own Moto AI features, including tools like “Catch Me Up” for notification summaries and “Pay Attention” for automatic transcription. Motorola also commits to seven major Android upgrades — a long-term support promise aimed at matching the standards already offered by its main competitors in the premium segment.
Price and Availability
In the European market, the Motorola Razr Fold starts at €2,000, firmly positioning it in the premium foldable segment. The device will roll out gradually across Latin America, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific in the coming months, cementing Motorola’s push to compete in the global foldable smartphone market throughout 2026.
